About Me

Posted on: December 10th, 2012 by Dawn

Dawn Cooper is an illustrator based in a leafy suburb of Bristol. She is represented by The Artworks illustration agency, and works from both her home and a friendly shared studio in central Bristol. Her work includes non-fiction books for children, book covers, maps and packaging, all heavily inspired by the natural world and its many creatures, as well as traditional botanical drawings and works of fiction.

Dawn graduated from Bath School of Art & Design with a first class degree in Graphic Communication, and has rarely been apart from her pens and paper since. Dawn currently creates her work digitally, hand-drawing directly onto a tablet, to make multi-layered illustrations with lots of colour and found textures.

In the rare moments when she’s not drawing, Dawn likes nothing more than a long, rewarding walk with her camera or browsing a book shop or two.
